Betfair Poker recently revamped their online poker software and launched the new Betfair Poker 2 software which has updated graphics, a new loyalty program, larger tournaments and best of all, Mac compatibility. For the first time, Mac users are given the opportunity to download the Betfair Poker software and have access to all of the same features that Windows users have access to. Betfair Poker also features an Instant Play option which gives those unable to use the software the opportunity to play directly in their Internet browser.
Accessing Betfair Poker for Mac
1. Navigate to the Betfair Poker web page and click the link for the Betfair Poker 2 program.
2. Click the Download Now link and save the installation program to your computer
3. When the file is completely downloaded, open the program to begin the installation process
4. You must agree to the terms and conditions and choose a location for the software files to go before the program can be installed.
5. The installation process should take a few minutes. Once complete you can log in with your Betfair Poker account or sign up for a new one through the software itself and begin playing immediately.
Betfair Poker System Requirements for Mac
The following system requirements are recommended to ensure a stable and speedy gaming experience:
Mac OS X 10.4 or better
512MB of RAM
A 16 bit graphics card or better
A 20Gb hard drive or better
A sound card
1GHz G3 processor or better
Instant Play
Although the Betfair Poker 2 software is loaded with special features and showcases state of the art graphics, the large file size may make it hard for some Mac users to download the program. Luckily, Betfair Poker also offers an Instant Play option that can be played directly in your Internet browser. This makes it an ideal way to play using an older computer or Macbook where there is limited hard drive space for new programs.
In order to utilize the Instant Play option, you must have a Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and a Java enabled web browser like Firefox or Safari. You may also need to turn off your pop-up blocker or set it to allow pop-ups from Betfair Poker as the Instant Play software will run in a new window. It should be noted that the Instant Play program does not have all of the same features as the Betfair Poker software and has a much more basic interface, but will still allow you to access the majority of Betfair Poker's ring games and tournaments.
