The starting field of 721 entrants has been trimmed down to just 76 players in the 2011 Aussie Millions Main Event Championship on Wednesday, but with action halted for the day, the remaining players are still four spots away from the money –and for one lucky poker player 75 spots away from a $2 million payday!
The chip-leader heading into Day 3 of the tournament is Randy Dorfman with an impressive stack of 581,000, but he has a number of top poker players hot on his heels including German poker pro Tobias Reinkemeir (currently in 3rd place), 2010 Bluff POY winner Sorel Mizzi (currently in 5th place), multi-tabling phenom and PokerNews Strategy coach Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew (currently in 6th place), and poker megastar Patrik Antonius (currently in 9th place).
Here are the Top 10 chip leaders in the tournament heading into Day 3:
1. Randy Dorfman 581,000
2. Michael Ryan 547,000
3. Tobias Reinkemeier 533,500
4. James Keys 508,500
5. Sorel Mizzi 489,000
6. Randy Lew 484,000
7. Rene Freymann 434,000
8. Haibo Chu 431,000
9. Patrik Antonius 428,500
10. Manny Rodrigues 365,000
There is still a lot of poker to be played, and the stacks are still very deep, so it will be interesting to see how long the money bubble lasts on Thursday, and how many chips the aggressive players can collect during that time period.
