Another Incredible Week for Galfond and Blom

The high stakes online poker scene was ablaze with action this past week, with a number of big name pros logging some epic sessions rarely seen in the post-Black Friday online poker environment.
Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom was the week’s biggest winner. The Swede engaged in a 100 sessions comprising almost 9,100 hands to win $482k. Blom wisely stuck to the lower stake levels of $50 / $100 and even $25 / $50, toppling Rui Cao and Ben “Sauce123″ Sulsky in the process.
Phil Galfond, aka MrSweets28, was the week’s second most profitable player with $410k. It took 84 sessions and over 7,600 hands for the new resident of Vancouver to earn the sum. Much of Galfond’s money came from still-unidentified Chinese player f2fish, though David “Deldar182″ Eldar threw in a contribution as well.
Illari Sahamies, who has been using his Illari FIN handle despite being better known as Ziigmund, had a highly rewarding week as well. The Finnish poker pro added $315k to his bankroll after playing 45 sessions averaging to about 100 hands per session.
Rui “PepperoniF” Cao was the most prolific player of the week, logging over 13,300 hands throughout 103 sessions. Cao’s decision to grind extremely high volume didn’t pay off. He lost almost $105k, dropping his yearly balance to a little over $1.36 million. Not bad considering his dangerously swingy play prior to Black Friday.
Ben Sulsky, aka Sauce123, took considerably more damage than Cao. After a relatively paltry 3,800 hands spread across 43 sessions, Sulsky lost $346k. No player took a bigger beating than Davin Georgi, however. The player known in online circles as mTw-DaviN dropped nearly $424k after playing about 5,300 hands in 64 sessions.
Other notable players this past week included skjervoy (up $221k), 1-ronnyr3 (up $305k), LuckyGump (down $102k), gavz01 (down $137k) and f2fish (down $316k).
