A few weeks ago Mike “The Mouth” Matusow may have inadvertently dropped a bombshell during an epic rant on the QuadJacks.com podcast. According to Matusow, who was being questioned as to why he hasn’t been more vocal about Full Tilt Poker’s inner workings, threw out a few figures that certain players have locked-up in their Full Tilt Poker accounts.

One of the figures Matusow cited was Daniel Cates, who plays at Full Tilt Poker under the screen-name “jungleman12”, who according to Matusow has some $6 million sitting in his Full Tilt Poker account. While the initial news caught the poker world by surprise, another unsubstantiated rumor from a top poker pro this past week, may be even more telling.

In the very long Girah scammed thread on 2+2, poker pro Danny “d2themfi” Isaacson detailed a conversation that took place during a dinner he shared with Cates and a few other friends:

“When we had dinner with Daniel “jungleman12″ Cates and Haseeb “INTERNETPOKERS” Qureshi in Austin in late April right after Black Friday, Cates said he had sold his Full Tilt Poker account balance (I believe for 85% but I can’t remember), … We then asked him if he had sold it to Tom “durrrr” Dwan, and his response was ‘Something like that’ and we left it at that,”

It was later revealed in the thread that soon after Cates had been buying back Full Tilt Poker accounts, this time at $.60 on the dollar –so it would appear that jungleman12 not only has a good head for poker, but also knows how to sell high and buy low!
