Despite being known primarily as a live tournament expert, poker pro Erick Lindgren earned a tidy sum of $87 a few nights ago at the high stakes online tables.
Lindgren sat in at the 6-Max Pot Limit Omaha tables, playing a total of 428 hands at the $300 / $600 stake level. His live tournament skills translated surprisingly well into his online game, and the evening saw him going toe to toe with some of the biggest high stakes grinders on the Internet, including Chau “La Key U” Giang, LokoIsBack, NoParasan, cadillac1944 and Hac “trex313″ Dang.
Lindgren has only engaged in 39 online poker sessions so far in 2011, though his lack of volume didn’t prevent him from earning more than anybody else at the table.
Although he’s one of the most successful live tournament, his online game has been weak in the past. Lindgren dropped $337k at the online tables in 2010, and his losses in 2008 and 2009 were even more significant. His career tournament earnings of over $7.5 million obviously give him a little leeway when he’s grinding it out online.
Currently, Lindgren is positive by $90k in 2011, strictly counting online earnings. If he keeps it up, he’ll have a chance of recording his first positive earnings year online since 2006.
Although the rest of the high stakes was relatively quiet on the night of Lindgren’s win, a few other players made some moves. Online poker pro bixiu earned $116k at the high stakes table on Full Tilt, while Science (up $49k), trex313 (up $55k) and Seb86 (up $60k) had impressive nights of their own.
The losers’ column was somewhat more active. The worst players of the evening included FinnishNightmare (down $55k), Bttech86 (down $130k) and Ben “Sauce1234″ Sulsky (down $183k).
Phil Ivey also dropped the ball, losing $54k over only 102 hands. The Full Tilt Poker pro remains positive by $1.2 million in 2011.
