It’s no secret among the online poker world that Gus Hansen is on the hot streak of a lifetime. He added another bullet point to his incredible 2011 resume a few nights ago when he won $171k playing PLO.

Hansen got most of his money in at the $300 / $600 heads up tables before briefly moving up to the $500 / $1,000 stake level. The lower stakes games were played against Cardrunners instructor and notable high stakes grinder Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen. It took Hansen a meager 89 hands to earn $166k. Torbergsen ended his evening at this point.

The rest of the Great Dane’s winnings came from Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, though Galfond admittedly held his own over the course of the 150 hand match, giving up only around $5k to Hansen.

Hansen called it quits for the night with $171k in profit. Thus far in 2011, he has earned upwards of $4.7 million on Full Tilt Poker, making him the year’s biggest online poker winner so far by an incredible margin.

Galfond recouped his losses and far more elsewhere at the high stakes tables, earning a total of $107k. He was topped by Ben “Sauce123″ Sulsky, who earned $136k on PokerStars. 100% of that money came from Swede Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom. Tom “durrrr” Dwan came out of latest durrrr Challenge loss to Dan Cates with an impressive $44k victory, while Luke “FullFlush1″ Schwartz earned $51k.

Schwartz first became famous in 2009, when he broke on to the scene and made a name for himself by stating that he would “send durrrr broke.” Schwartz has failed to fulfill that promise thus far, and up until a few nights ago he was negative by $139k for the year.

The biggest losers of the evening included urnotindangr (down $57k), ILoseSoWhat (down $74k), TheoJ (down $75k), Van Marcus (down $129k) and skjervoy (down $166k, thanks entirely to Hansen).
