Hansen Fumbles Again, This Time for $345k

The World Series of Poker is only one week away. What does this mean for Gus Hansen? That he’s destined to lose at the high stakes online poker tables, of course! That prophecy was fulfilled just a few nights ago when Hansen dropped almost $350,000 over the course of 481 hands.
Hansen had a huge weekend, earning $686k at Full Tilt Poker. That win has now been massively mitigated by his latest session at Full Tilt, in which Hansen made the unusual choice of entering the high stakes draw tables. Unfortunately for Hansen, online poker forces Kagome Kagome and Seb86 were waiting patiently to take his money.
Although the loss is certainly significant, it doesn’t remove Hansen from his spot as the winningest online poker player of 2011, as he still holds $3 million in profits.
Kagome Kagome and Seb86 virtually split the profits gained from Hansen’s losses, earning $177k and $168k, respectively. Kagome Kagome, who is perhaps still better known by his old handle IHateJuice, has experienced a crushing year overall and remains negative by $1.5 million.
Full Tilt wasn’t the only major poker site to host high stakes action. On PokerStars, Gavin “gavz101″ Cochrane and Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom continued their rivalry. After 3,075 hands of heads up PLO at the $50 / $100 stake level, Blom emerged victorious with a $90k win.
The win marks a major milestone for Isildur1: for the first time in months, he’s even in terms of yearly profits. Although not many online poker players would be happy to have zero yearly earnings by the end of May, it’s important to recognize that Blom was negative by over $500k not long ago.
Other movers and shakers that evening included azn_baller3 (down $21k), compris (down $64k), le kork (down $78k), saphire1 (up $33k), tr1ck7 (up $48k) and Mary & Joey (up $48k).
