Has Gus Hansen Reinvented His Poker Game?
written by: John under News Comments: Comments Off
The cash game abilities of Gus Hansen have never been considered world class, and with the tracking sites like www.highstakesdb.com keeping tabs on the nosebleed games we have seen that Gus has struggled mightily over the past couple of years at the online poker tables. However, Gus seems to have hit a turning point since last September, and has been the biggest winner over that time span at his home site of Full Tilt Poker.
Hansen found himself down some $3.5 million for the year in September 2010, but from there on out the Dane was practically unbeatable, erasing over $2 million of that deficit –it later came out that Hansen was the biggest winner of the previously untracked Draw games that were introduced by Full Tilt Poker.
Hansen’s hot-streak has continued into 2011 –although after nearly 6 months it’s hard to simply write it off as a streak—and he is the biggest winner at the Full Tilt Poker tables in the early months of 2011, currently up roughly $1.3 million –and $4 million since last September.
So the question that needs to be asked is: Has Gus turned a corner in his poker career? Obviously he has the ability to compete at the highest level and maybe now he is putting in the time and work away from the tables to get the most out of his talent. We will have to wait and see if Hansen continues to dominate at the high stakes poker tables or if he crashes and burns.
