Hot on the heels of Bwin Poker’s announcement that dozens of World Series of Poker entry packages are available through their online satellite tournaments, Betfair Poker is now offering a similar promotion. Starting in April, Betfair will be putting $150,000 in WSOP buy-ins up for grabs.

The promotion is entitled “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” and it’s set to run over an eight week span from April 1st until May 27. The promotion will essentially act as a $70,000 points race.

The three most successful players in the points race will earn seats in the 2011 WSOP Main Event, and places 4 through 150 will split a guaranteed prize pool of $40k.

Betfair Poker is also offer a 6-Shooter promotion in which players can earn as many 6-shooter tournament tickets as they can during April and May. A total of six events will be held, each awarding two $5,700 World Series of Poker side event packages to the top players.

Betfair also plans to change their standard $2,500 Welcome Freeroll event that’s available to new members. Previously, the event worked as a daily guaranteed freeroll as an incentive for new signups. During April and May however, the event will occur every two weeks with a $5,700 prize pool. The pool will consist of $1,400 in WSOP satellite tickets and a $3,600 WSOP ticket for a side event.

Weekly freeroll will also run from April 15th until May 27th, with an invitation-only format that will offer a $250 prize pool as well as a $54 WSOP satellite entry ticket.

Finally, Betfair will offer a $2,000 freeroll on June 3rd for players who generate 100 VIP points after making a deposit. This too is an invitation-only event.
