Mike Mizrachi inks deal with Breeders Cup

Mike “the Grinder” Mizrachi has never been one to shy away from non-traditional poker sponsorships –evidenced by the numerous patches he wore at the 2010 World Series of Poker final table, not to mention the whole Deliverance Poker lawsuit—and now thanks to the new poker laws in Florida –which has combined the poker and racetrack industry in the state– Mizrachi will add yet another strange bedfellow to his list of sponsors: The Breeders Cup.
Mizrachi, who like the rest of the Full Tilt Poker sponsored players were left out in the cold after Black Friday, has reached an agreement with the Horse Racing giant that will see Mizrachi under contract through 2011. In a statement issued by the Breeders Cup, Peter Rotondo, the Vice President of Media and Entertainment stated, “We’re thrilled to have a relationship with ‘The Grinder’ which will allow for one of poker’s superstars to reach out to the poker world and educate them about the Breeders’ Cup and the over $160 million in liquidity during our two-day event,”
As part of the deal, Mizrachi will escort the winner of a Breeders Cup contest to the race, which is scheduled to take place at the fabled Churchill Downs racetrack in Lexington, Kentucky, no November 4th and 5th –So don’t expect to see Mizrachi at the Rio for the final table of the World Series of Poker. Of course this time around he would have been a spectator and not a participant!
