Mike Sexton joins FairPlayUSA Advisory Board

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the new poker advocacy group FairPlayUSA announced that Mike Sexton would be joining the FairPlayUSA Advisory Board. Even before the addition of the well-known and well-respected Sexton, the fledgling group has already made a big splash with their poker lobbying efforts, creating a petition on their website, and even bringing Congressman Michael Grimm on board as the newest online poker advocate in Congress.
In an E-Mail I received this morning from Marissa McNee, the executive director of FairPlayUSA, detailed what Sexton’s presence would bring to the Advisory Board, and what role he will play with FairPlayUSA:
“Yesterday, poker champion Mike Sexton, known as the Ambassador of Poker for his work promoting the game across America and around the world, joined FairPlayUSA’s advisory board!
“Mike joins a diverse and influential list of advisory board members, including Internet safety expert Parry Aftab, former Secretary of Homeland Security and Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Ridge, and professional poker player Greg Raymer.”
Sexton, who currently works as a commentator on the WPT and also acts as a spokesman for Party Poker, added the following: “Americans should be able to play poker online in the privacy of their homes knowing that the games are safe and fair… FairPlayUSA is committed to ensuring a strict regulatory framework for online poker, and I am pleased to be part of its advisory board.”
