Mining company says train charge proposals are unfair, will take actionnatyasastra.com

After complaints of harassment, discrimination and even death threats, a union representing workers in the company that owns the L.A. underground tunnels has proposed changes to its working conditions.

The Mine Workers Union of America on Wednesday said the proposal would end the use of pay cuts to provide extra time off, increase hours for workers who work overtime, require overtime pay, provide extra pay to workers who are out sick on Fridays and Sunday, and require a minimum 40-hour workweek for most workers.

This could result in workers making significantly more than those at competing mining companies with similar needs and demands, the union said, and could result in the construction of a railroad between L.A. and downtown that would cost much more to build than the proposed tunnels.

“This is the first major move we’ve seen from the company to reduce or eliminate all of the benefits to the employees,” said Mike Allen, the head of the mine workers union. “We have been talking to some representatives of the CEO since yesterday and he said it’s his first major proposal in decades that’s a long way from actually being implemented.”

Mayor Eric Garcetti has expressed hope that the change will resolve complaints, Allen said he was alarmed to find some of his union representatives making similar demands of L.A. and Los Angeles County officials.

In a statement, L.A. County Supervisor Gloria Molina criticized the proposal as “a cynical attempt by an outside developer to put the rail system in jeopardy.” She called the union’s demands “deeply flawed” and said that it would hurt jobs in a county “with its abundant steel and aluminum더킹카지노 resource.”

The L.A. government’s Department of C우리카지노ity and County Planning said in a statement that although it didn’t agree with “the merits of these changes,” it “will continue to evaluate alternatives that can meet the needs of residents with greater convenience.” It also asked anyone with information regarding the proposal to contact the department’s Civilian Complaint Review Center.

The Los Angeles County tunnel authority will begin digging the Los Angeles County subway system to service its downtown terminal in 2019, and work is already under way to begin digging the L.A. City underground, with construction due to start in 2014, Allen said.

It remains to be seen how much impact the proposal could have o
