NBC National Heads-Up Poker Stays with Caesars and GoDaddy for March Event

For its seventh year, the annual National Heads-Up Poker Championship will be on the poker schedule. And as in years past, it will be filmed and broadcast by NBC and held at the Caesars Palace tournament room in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The bracket-style heads-up tournament will boast of 64 players, all aiming for the title and $750,000 first-place prize. The 2010 champion, Annie Duke , will return to defend her title, as will some of the biggest names in the game, such as Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Chris Ferguson, Huck Seed, Phil Ivey, and Andy Bloch. Others said to be joining the action include Darvin Moon and 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel.
Also in the room will be lead sponsor GoDaddy.com, and it will again sponsor “Go Daddy Girl” Vanessa Rousso in the tournament. This wouldn’t be so interesting if not for the recent GoDaddy.com commercial that premiered its newest “Go Daddy Girl”, Joan Rivers, who happened to be the arch-rival of Duke on the NBC show The Celebrity Apprentice in 2009. Though it is doubtful that Rivers will appear at the National Heads-Up Championship in any form, she is not held in high regard by most in the poker community, and it will be interesting to see if this reflects on GoDaddy.com or the event in general.
If Duke wins again, it would be nice, in an ironic and vengeful way, if Rivers had to give her the money and the trophy. But I digress.
The festivities will begin on March 3, when the draw party will be held at PURE Nightclub at Caesars to determine the first-round bracket lineup. Action then begins at the tables on March 4, continuing through the 5th, and finishing on the 6th with the best-of-three championship match.
Question of the Day: Does GoDaddy’s choice of Joan Rivers affect your willingness to use GoDaddy services?
