New Season of High Stake Poker to Air in February

It was announced this past week that the highly anticipated seventh season of High Stakes Poker will debut on GSN February 26, 2011. The most interesting revelation is that the show will be moving from Sunday nights to Saturday nights, but nothing has really gone to plan with Season 7 of the show. The airing of Season 7 was scheduled to begin in January but the show has been met with delays from the outset, and a variety of rumors have swirled around Season 7 of HSP.
Season 7 is the first time we are really in the dark as to which poker players competed when the show was taped at the Bellagio in December 2010 –having moved from the Golden Nugget—as no press was invited to conduct exit interviews as was the case in past years.
Also of interest will be the lack of Full Tilt Poker pros since the site has boycotted the show over PokerStars becoming the official sponsor, and more importantly purchasing the High Stakes Poker archives which includes older episodes where Full Tilt poker pros did not wear logos of any sort –Full Tilt feels players viewing these episodes on PokerStars may become confused over player affiliations.
Right now we only know who will appear on the show based on Twitter and Facebook updates by top players. Expected to appear on Season 7 are Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond, Jason Mercier, Vanessa Selbst, Jonathan Duhamel, Haralabos Voulgaris, David “Viffer” Peat, Barry Greenstein, Doyle Brunson, and possibly Scotty Nguyen who would be making his first appearance on the show.
