PocketFives Helping Players Move Post-Black Friday

written by: James under News Comments: Comments Off

A couple of weeks ago, OnlinePoker.org reported that PocketFives would be ceasing all advertising deals with U.S.-facing online poker sites. The announcement came from PocketFives just as it was preparing to launch a new player relocation service to help American online grinders return to their games (and potentially their careers) in the post-Black Friday environment. That service, entitled Poker Refugees, has finally arrived.

Poker Refugees is led by Kristin Wilson, a resident of Costa Rica and former professional surfer. For a fee of $1,000 for an individual, $1,500 for a family or $750 per person for multiple roommates, Wilson and her team at PocketFives will help you relocate either to Canada, Panama or Costa Rica.

Although $1,000 may seem like a lot for what basically amounts to a consultation, the services are actually quite extensive. Before your move, Poker Refugees will help you to decide on a location, provide you with an English-speaking real estate agent, hire an international mover, and produce a list of affordable hotels, housing rentals and permanent residences.

Once you arrive at your destination, Poker Refugees will pick you up at the airport and provide transportation to your home or apartment. Next, you’ll be connected with other local Poker Refugees clients and treated to insider information regarding your new locale.

Finally, Poker Refugees will assist you in establishing everything necessary to play real money online poker in your new country of residence, including a local bank account, local attorneys and accounts, a cell phone and data/voice plan, and a broadband Internet connection. Optional VIP services include a private chef, maid and concierge service.

Plenty of useful information, including country comparisons, testimonials and FAQ sections are available for free on PocketFives.com.

If you’re planning to leave the U.S. to continue your online poker career, will you take advantage of Poker Refugees? Or would you rather keep the $1,000 and go at it alone? Let us know in the comments section below.
