Poker After Dark Returns With $100,000 Buy In Tournament
written by: John under News Comments: Comments Off
In the first episode of the new season of Poker After Dark, poker enthusiasts were treated to the largest buy-in the show has held to date, a $100,000 winner-take-all tournament featuring six of the best poker players on the planet: Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Erick Lindgren, and Huck Seed. Between them the participants have 18 WSOP bracelets, some $42 million in tournament earnings, and probably double that number in online and live cash game winnings!
The episode is titled Big Heat Week and promises to kick off an exciting season of the popular late-night poker telecast. Not only will fans be treated to the increased tournament buy-ins, but also more of the popular cash-game format shows will be played, as well as a televised poker first: a PLO cash game with a massive lineup!
PAD has also infused a lot of new blood into the program for the upcoming season, so alongside the poker world’s mainstays like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, and Phil Ivey we will also get to see some of the games’ young guns including an episode dubbed “Young Guns” where we will get a look at talented poker pros Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger, Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin and newly minted Team Full Tilt Poker pro Melanie “Callisto5” Weisner, along with Annette Obrestad.
