The world’s largest online poker room added a new executive this past week as they brought Eric Hollreiser on board as their new Head of Corporate Communications, a position whose responsibilities execution of corporate communications, internal communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility, including across social media and talent communications according to a press release issued by PokerStars.

The former Microsoft and Disney executive went through a long 6-month application and vetting process that was handled by a third-party executive search firm. Here is a look at Hollreiser’s career accomplishments according to the press release: “Hollreiser is a former journalist and a veteran communications pro who has been a senior executive in media, entertainment and technology companies, including Microsoft Corp., The Walt Disney Company and Activision. He has also been an agency executive at Tierney Communications and was a co-founder of T2 Group, and brings a mix of entrepreneurial passion, Fortune 100 strategic communications experience and savvy business acumen to PokerStars’ senior management team.”

The hire comes in the wake of PokerStars seeing their CEO indicted on a number of charges by the US government, and the subsequent shutdown of the site’s operations in the United States following the Black Friday ordeal. Despite this, PokerStars has managed to stay above the fray and handled the matter in the most professional and expedient manner of the three rooms involved –Full Tilt Poker and UB/Absolute Poker being the other two.
