Each weekend, poker players will find a plethora of satellites on the major poker sites, ranging from qualifiers to the big Sunday tournaments to seats at some of the biggest live events in the world. No matter your preference, there is something for everyone, all at a fraction of the actual tournament buy-ins. Patience is key to climb the steps or satellite up through to a seat, but slow and steady is said to win the race.

This week, Full Tilt launched its World Series of Poker promotions, of which there are many. Pick the ones that work best for your bankroll and start now to try to win your WSOP seats. PokerStars is launching its weekly women-only tournament this Sunday, and there are also other opportunities for its female player contingent to win seats into live events as well. Full Tilt Poker:

Every spring, Full Tilt launches its WSOP satellite campaign, and by the time the World Series hits Main Event time, the number of players having won seats via Full Tilt greatly exceeds 1,000. With only about two months before the start of the summer games, FTP has announced its qualifiers. They look at lot like years past, but there’s no use changing what seems to work consistently. Take a look at some of the ways to win those prize packages this weekend:

Steps – Start with Step 1 for as little as $3.30, climb to Step 7 for a chance at the $12K prize package. Those steps run around the clock.

Race – Play the Round 1 freerolls – running 24 hours a day as of March 23 – to get into the daily Main Event Race, then on to the weekly freeroll for a chance at a $10K prize package.

150 Seat Guarantee – Satellite in to the big June 26 Guarantee (where 150 seats will be awarded) with satellites running now for as low as $1 or 50 Full Tilt Points. The first direct satellite is on March 25 and costs $69 + $6.

Shootouts – Daily shootout tournaments started March 23 and award two $12K prize packages each day. Direct buy-ins are $200 + $16 but satellites start at $1 or 50 points.

Direct – Main Event satellites run from Tuesday to Sunday, each day a different buy-in ($300 + 22 Tuesdays for two $12K packages, $1000 + $60 Thursdays for five packages, etc.) with satellites starting at $1 or 50 points.

In addition, the new Black Card promotion allows players to earn special status by achieving an average of 500 Full Tilt Points or higher over a 100-day period. Keeping the Black Card requires maintaining a 100-day point average of 500 points or more, though there is a grace period for 50 days depending on your place in the program. The Black Card has numerous benefits, like double or more points for regular site play, but there will also be special Black Card WSOP freerolls for cardholders, the first of which is scheduled for April 17.

PokerStars:

As part of an outreach program to female players, PokerStars has created “PokerStars Women” to focus on tournaments and satellites that will wrangle more women into the games. Though these are women-only events, the much-ignored segment of the poker population is being catered to with promotions like the Women’s Poker League. Starting with twice-daily $.10 buy-in tournaments and twice-daily $1.10 events, women can accrue points on the leaderboard that translate into cash and prizes. There is also a weekly freeroll each Sunday that rewards points and league tickets.

This Sunday bring the first of weekly Women’s Sunday tournaments, as each Sunday will host a $50 + $5 buy-in women-only tournament with a $5K guaranteed prize pool that will be featured on the PokerStars Blog. There will also be $50 bounties for knocking out any of the female PokerStars Team Pros. And there are satellites for that event:

Saturday – Freeroll + $1 rebuys at 13:00ET
Daily – $2.20 + rebuys at 13:00ET & 19:30ET
Daily – $5.50 satellites at 15:30ET & 21:30ET
Daily – $11 satellites at 17:30ET

Women are also offered the opportunity to qualify for the PokerStars Women Live event at the European Poker Tour’s grand finale at Madrid this spring. Prize packages will award the €550 event buy-in and €500 for expenses. The tournament is scheduled for May 11 and 12 in Spain, and qualifiers are running daily now.
