The weekend is just moments away for most people, and while non-poker folks may be looking to enjoy some spring-type weather, poker players are looking to enjoy some bankroll boosts. Weekends are the perfect opportunity to get in on the numerous satellites on the major poker websites. Whether they happen to offer trips around the world or seats in some of the biggest live or online tournaments around, they are worth the effort.

Again this week, we’ll focus on Full Tilt and PokerStars, as they have some of the most exciting promotions available for online players. But if you feel we’re missing something, please leave a comment. And don’t forget to sign up for new accounts if you’re new to poker; clicking the links below will bring up some stellar sign-up offers.

Full Tilt Poker:

MiniFTOPS is in its last weekend, but there are opportunities to get into each of the last six events of the weekend up until the tournaments actually begin. Saturday will play host to four of those FTOPS events:

#40 – $216 NLHE 6-max 2-day: satellites as low as 7250 Full Tilt Points or $10.65
#41 – $11 NLHE Rush rebuy: satellites as low as 875 FTP or $.60
#42 – $55 NLHE heads-up: satellites as low as 175 FTP or $1.85
#43 – $22 Badugi: satellites as low as 575 FTP or $2.50

And Sunday will bring two events, one being the grand finale:

#44 – $26 NLHE 6-max knockout: satellites as low as 900 FTP or $2.75
Main – $75 NLHE multi-entry ($1.25 million guarantee: satellites as low as 500 FTP or $1.40

And the other news of the week for Full Tilt also translates into satellites for players. The much-discussed Onyx Cup Series, which will boast of very high buy-ins and pit the best players in the world against each other is already running satellites. The first buy-in sat will take place on Sunday, and the $69 + $6 event will generate one prize package worth $105K. (That’s $105,000, people!) In addition, there are freerolls running during the week, and those who win Round 1 tickets can play in Saturday’s Round 2 freeroll, from which winners will go to the May 1 satellite that will award a $105K prize package.

PokerStars:

One of the big news items to come from Stars this week was the renaming of the Sunday 1/4 Million tournament, which is now called the Sunday Storm. And to celebrate the name change, the March 27th edition of the tournament will boast of a special $1 million guarantee. While the buy-in remains a reasonable $11, there are freerolls running every hour that award entries to the tournament, well, for free. Those freerolls are underway now and running through March 27, and the top 10 finishers from each win seats.

And not to be left out of the series loop, PokerStars recently announced that SCOOP, the Spring Championship of Online Poker, will take place in May this year, and the schedule is available for players already. For those unfamiliar, each SCOOP event offers three levels of buy-ins – low, medium, and high – all with serious guarantees. Some examples of this weekend’s umpteen satellites:

Event #19 Low – $22 NLHE: satellites as low as 275 Frequent Player Points on March 19
Event #1 Low – $22 NLHE 6-max: satellites as low as $2.20 w/rebuys on March 19
Event #2 Medium – $215 NLHE: satellites as low as $11 on March 19

They are truly running around the clock for all levels and all events. Why not grab a seat this weekend?
