Days after news broke regarding a decade-long private poker game was first reported by Star Magazine, involving Hollywood A-Listers like Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Leonardo DeCaprio, Alex Rodriguez, and a slew of other actors, directors and personalities, one of the principles in the case, Tobey Maguire, is speaking out.

Maguire has now admitted to participating in the games, but claims the amount he has won was well below the $1 million or so being reported by the tabloids. According to Today.com, Maguire put his winnings at $187k. Maguire is also denying any wrongdoing, saying he was simply playing poker.

The game first came to light after a lawsuit was filed on behalf of Ponzi scheme mastermind Bradley Ruderman, who was a regular in the game –and was one of the game’s big losers according to reports. Lawyers for the victims are looking to recover any portion of the money Ruderman stole, and have identified several high-profile celebrities that won money from Ruderman in the high-stakes poker games.

The case has opened up a tabloid frenzy thanks to the A-list stars involved, as well as new developments purporting Molly Bloom –sister of Olympian and NFL’er Jeremy Bloom—ran the games and after giving testimony was paid a visit by Russian mobsters who may also have ties to the game either as participants or on the hosting side.

Unlike other poker gossip this one has really caught traction and each day it seems like more details come to light –the principles have also been pretty forthcoming about discussing the game including Maguire, Gabe Kaplan, and poker pro Dan Bilzerian, all of whom have been quoted in the gossip mags.
