UB Poker dismisses entire roster of sponsored pros

The latest casualties stemming from the US crackdown on online poker are the sponsored poker players and poker personalities from UB Poker and Absolute Poker, all of whom were informed on Monday that there contracts would be terminated immediately in a statement released by the Cereus Poker Network. Some of the players were not even given the courtesy of a phone call, and were simply told via E-Mail.
Here is a look at the 11 players (10 from UB Poker and 1 from Absolute Poker) who were let go by the Cereus Poker Network: Joe Sebok, Prahlad Friedman, Eric “Basebaldy” Baldwin, Maria Ho, Brandon Cantu, Tiffany Michelle, Scott Ian, “Hollywood” Dave Stann, Adam “Roothlus” Levy, Bryan Devonshire and Trishelle Cannatella.
The news must be especially difficult for two players in particular, Joe Sebok and Prahlad Friedman.
Sebok joined UB Poker in part to help flesh out the Super-User scandal details and be somewhat of a go between for UB Poker and the poker community. But after being told what we now know to be lies and half-truths Sebok’s reputation has taken a major hit for his UB ties.
Friedman is the newest member of Team UB, and for years the online poker legend has spurned any sponsorship offers only to join the site that cheated him out of millions during the Super-User era, and now finds his contract terminated just months after signing –not to mention finding out that the original players who are linked to the Super-User scandal are still actively involved in the company.
