Scott Palmer, aka URnotINdanger2, was the biggest loser of the weekend when he lost over $373k at the high stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker.
Palmer engaged in well over 3,300 hands of Pot Limit Omaha at the $500 / $1,000 stake level, and was uncharacteristically dominated by virtually every opponent he faced. Palmer lost $200k to Gus Hansen, who seems to have completely recovered from a brief hiccup in his winning streak, and the rest to a series of unknowns.
Palmer was enormously successful in the tentative weeks of 2011 and won over $1 million, but his progress has been stifled more recently. He currently sits with positive earnings of $541k for the year, and there’s little doubt that he’ll be seeking redemption this week.
Gus Hansen wisely chose to log off for the weekend after fleecing Palmer, with his $200k in profits adding to an already astounding $3.3 million in 2011. This makes Hansen the most successful online player of the year by a growing margin.
XWINK, the mysterious Canadian high stakes grinder who previously played as XBLINK at UB, continued to crash and burn this weekend, losing another $220k. He was positive by $2 million in 2011 after a few hugely successful sessions. A series of crushing losses puts him down at $570k. Railbirds are beginning to theorize about just how long it will be til XWINK goes broke and disappears once again.
The biggest winner on PokerStars of the weekend was gavs101, who played over 4,000 hands to earn $227k. Full Tilt Poker, meanwhile, was dominated by Matt Hawrilenko, positive by $210k. Other notable winners included Kpederson (up $107k) and NoParasan (up $125k).
Compris suffered a weekend nearly as bad as Palmer’s, losting $293k on his PokerStars account. The unfortunate also included I Win Flips (down $73k), Rui Cao (down $101k) and David Oppenheim (down $163k).
