Players Only is a popular online poker room that also includes a casino and sportsbook. The site is known for lucrative bonuses, high quality customer support and downloadable software available exclusively for Windows. Unfortunately, this means that Linux users won't have the option of running an Instant Play version of Players Only. Instead, they'll need to download a Windows emulation program as well as the downloadable Windows version of Players Only. Fortunately, this is a simple process that can be completed in only a few minutes with a broadband Internet connection.

Installing Players Only Linux

Before downloading Players Only and installing it on your computer, you'll need to prepare the Linux OS to run Windows applications by downloading Wine. Wine is a simple Windows emulator that allows Linux users to enjoy most all Windows programs, all within the comfort of Linux. The program can be obtained free of charge by following a few simple steps:

1. Launch Synaptic.

2. Click the Repositories option within the Synaptic Settings.

3. Look for a toggle switch labeled Universe. Click on Universe to ensure that it is enabled.

4. Perform a search for Wine.

5. When Wine appears in the search results, click on it. This will tell Synaptic that you want to download and install Wine.

6. Click Apply.

7. Observe the progress bar as Wine downloads to your computer.

Once the Wine download has finished, it should automatically begin its installation process. Be sure to choose the Applications folder if prompted for an installation destination.

Next, you'll need to download the Players Only Windows software, which will serve as Players Only Linux under Wine. Visit PlayersOnly.com and click the Download Poker Now link seen in the upper left corner. The download will begin automatically. Once it finishes, double click the install.exe file to launch the installer. Install Players Only Linux under Wine in the Applications folder. The only remaining step is to create an account with Players Only, which can be done within the Players Only Linux software.

Players Only Linux Features

Since Players Only Linux is identical to the Windows version of the software, you'll have access to all of the software features and real money game types enjoyed by all Players Only users. Some of these features include four table multitabling, player tags allowing you to keep track of opponents, Expose One Card and Deal it Twice.
